Insurance companies in Turkey often delay, reduce or refuse claims. An insurance claims lawyer in Turkey makes sure you receive full compensation after a traffic accident, property loss or other insured event. We represent injured persons, families of victims and policyholders, including foreigners injured while in Turkey.

Insurance Lawyer

Insurance lawyer Istanbul: we pursue compensation after traffic accidents, claims against insurers, Insurance Arbitration Commission applications and refused kasko or policy claims for injured persons, families and policyholders, including foreigners injured in Turkey.

Traffic Accident Compensation

Every vehicle in Turkey must carry compulsory traffic insurance, which covers bodily injury, death and property damage caused to third parties up to the policy limits. Injured persons can claim:

  • medical expenses and care costs,
  • temporary and permanent loss of earnings and working capacity,
  • loss of support for the dependants of a deceased person,
  • vehicle damage and loss of value.

Moral damages are claimed from the driver and the vehicle owner, as they fall outside compulsory traffic insurance.

Applying to the Insurer First

Before filing a lawsuit or arbitration against the insurer, the claimant must first apply to the insurance company in writing with the required documents. If the insurer does not pay within the legal period or pays less than due, the claim can proceed. We prepare the application, including medical reports and calculations, to avoid delays.

Insurance Arbitration Commission or Court

Claims against insurers can be brought before the Insurance Arbitration Commission (Sigorta Tahkim Komisyonu), which is often faster than the courts, or before the courts. We advise which route suits your case.

Other Insurance Disputes

  • comprehensive vehicle (kasko) insurance refusals,
  • fire, home and workplace insurance claims,
  • health and life insurance disputes,
  • recourse claims between insurers.

Foreigners Injured in Turkey

Tourists and foreign residents injured in accidents in Turkey have the same rights as Turkish citizens. We can handle the entire claim under a power of attorney after you return home.
